Scientific graphs Generators plugin

Cezary Bartosiak and Rafał Kasprzyk just released the Complex Generators plugin, introducing many awaited scientific generators. These generators are extremely useful for scientists, as they help to simulate various real networks. They can test their models and algorithms on well-studied graph examples. For instance, the Watts-Strogatz generator creates networks as described by Duncan Watts in his Six Degrees book.

The plugin contains the following generators:

  • Balanced Tree
  • Barabasi Albert
  • Barabasi Albert Generalized
  • Barabasi Albert Simplified A
  • Barabasi Albert Simplified B
  • Erdos Renyi Gnm
  • Erdos Renyi Gnp
  • Kleinberg
  • Watts Strogatz Alpha
  • Watts Strogatz Beta

The plug-in can be installed directly from Gephi 0.8, from the Plugins menu.

The source code is available on Launchpad.

  1. Hi , I am using Gephi 0.9.2. I have installed Complex Generators plugin using Maven. I did not find Barabasi Albert in layout window in Gephi. Please tell me how can i use Barabasi Albert in deployment of nodes?

  2. I can’t seem to find this plugin in the plugins dialog under available plugins, is it removed in the most recent version? i am running 0.9.2-1 in Arch Linux and i really need to work with the Watts-Strogatz generator, can you please provide any information. Thanks in advance
